Annual Food Drive Brings in 900 Pounds of Food

Unloading FoodThanks to the generosity of our passengers, over 900 pounds of food was collected during County Connection’s annual food drive. Small milk crates placed on each of the fixed-route buses turn the vehicles into rolling collection sites. Each evening maintenance workers empty the crates into a large storage container. All food collected benefits the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano and is distribute directly back into the community through school and church programs, as well as to recognized non-profit organizations.  The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano provides food to nearly 188,000 people each month.
