Route 4 Detour 10/3 -10/6

Locust Street in Walnut Creek will be closed Thursday Oct. 3rd through Sunday, October 6th between Civic and Bonanza, affecting buses in the southbound direction (traveling to Broadway Plaza).

When leaving Walnut Creek BART, the Route 4 buses will travel on California Blvd., turn left on to Mt. Diablo Blvd., and follow its regular route through Broadway Plaza. There will be no changes to the northbound direction.

The Route 4 buses will use the existing stops on California Blvd. passenger boarding and off-boarding.

  • The part of Locust St. that will be closed is the 1/2 block south of Civic Dr. by the Lesher Theatre. I’d suggest rerouting the Route 4 Free Trolley to go one block further south on N. California Blvd., and then turning left on Bonanza, and then right on to Locust.
    This will permit two added temporary stops on N California Blvd., one at Cole, and one at Trinity.

    • Dispatch determined left hand turn on Bonanza is too tight. There are Rt. 21 stops on N Calif. at Lacassie, Cole and Trinity that will be used by the Rt. 4 if requested.
