Central Contra Costa Transit Authority (County Connection) Youth Ride Free Leaderboard (Leaderboard), Terms and Conditions
By participating in the Youth Ride Free Leaderboard, you (Participant) acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions.
- Purpose: The Leaderboard is a voluntary program designed to encourage transit ridership.
- Eligibility: Participation is open to individuals between 13 and 18 years of age. Participants must submit parental consent to participate.
- Description of Leaderboard: The Youth Ride Free leaderboard is part of the Youth Ride Free pilot program with County Connection. To participate, Participants must register with County Connection and once they do so, they may log every trip they take on County Connection from June 1-July 31, 2025. Names of Participants will display on the Leaderboard as a random moniker and not as their real name.
- Information Collected: Participants will be asked to submit their name and email address and zip code. If Participants win a prize through participation in the Leaderboard, County Connection may request a mailing address solely for the purpose of delivering that prize. No other personal information will be collected. The Leaderboard is not open to individuals under 13 years of age. If you are under the age of 13, you should not and may not provide any information to County Connection. If you are an adult and find that County Connection has inadvertently collected information from a child under the age of 13, please contact County Connection, and we will work to rectify the situation.
- Use of Information: Information collected will be used solely for Leaderboard administration, distribution of prizes and internal evaluation. County Connection will not sell, license, or share personal information with third parties, except as required by law.
- Privacy and Public Records: Information submitted may be subject to disclosure under the California Public Records Act (Gov. Code § 7920.000 et seq.), unless an applicable exemption applies.
- Media and Publicity: Aggregated or anonymized data may be used for program summaries or reports. County Connection will not use individual names, photos, or identifying information for promotional purposes without express written consent.
- Limitation of Liability: Participation in the Leaderboard is voluntary. County Connection is not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage arising out of participation in the Leaderboard, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- Indemnification: You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless County Connection, and their officers, directors, employees, agents, and consultants from and against all suits, claims, actions, losses, liabilities, expenses, damages and costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, resulting from any violation of these terms and conditions, or any activity related to use of the Leaderboard.
- Governing Law: Participation in the Leaderboard and these terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.
- Disqualification and Termination: County Connection reserve the right to disqualify any participant found in violation of these terms or attempting to manipulate the Leaderboard unfairly, or for any other reason. The Leaderboard may be terminated, suspended, or modified at any time without prior notice, at the discretion of County Connection.
