MEET KELLY: THE VOICE OF COUNTY CONNECTION
Customer Service Representative Kelly Shelby says it’s the people—both the ones she works with and those she helps—that make her love her work.
Kelly has covered several positions at County Connection, from reception, to dispatch, and even schedule distribution. It’s when she interacts with the public that Kelly shines the brightest. “My mom called me a Chatty Cathy and I see why, because I talk a lot. I just love interacting with people! Once I started at County Connection, I knew I was destined for customer service.”
Kelly’s gift of gab, passion for people, and knack for recognizing frequent callers by voice sets her apart. With 17 years at the agency—including 4 years as a temp and 13 years full-time—Kelly has shown that time flies when you’re having fun, and dedication pays off. County Connection awarded Kelly Employee of the Year in 2016, an honor she considers one of the proudest achievements of her career.
Even as a temp, Kelly felt valued. She was blown away when she received a gift card for a Thanksgiving turkey in one of her first years at the agency. Kelly says the supportive atmosphere creates a true sense of belonging. “County Connection always takes care of its people.”
As Kelly prepares for retirement, she leaves future team members with this golden advice: always prioritize the public, have an open mind, and connect with the riders on a human level.
