Supplemental Service & Temporary Stop Closures Dec. 10, 2016

Early Rt. 4 Service and Temporary Stop Closure During The Walnut Creek Half Marathon

County Connection will run early AM Supplemental Service Saturday, December 10, 2016, on the Route 4 to help with the Walnut Creek Half Marathon. The service will start at 5:00 AM and run continually until the last trip (approximately 0630). There is a modification of the route for this service.

The Route 311 will have bus stops closed and right lane closed on N. Civic Dr., Oak Rd., and Treat Blvd. from BART Walnut Creek towards BART Concord the morning of the Marathon until no later than 10:00 AM.

There will be a detour for the Route 311 from BART Walnut Creek to BART Pleasant Hill until the stops are open on N Civic Dr. Buses will use Main St. and Treat Blvd. from BART Walnut Creek to BART Pleasant Hill.

  • It is possible to have pre-dawn extra bus service on a weekend for a marathon but no bus service on Thanksgiving,and Christmas? Sad priorities. The old, poor, and/ or disabled being left isolated on major, family holidays doesn’t rank with the same importance as accommodating people who want to run a race. Very, very sad.
