Looking to gain independence through public transit?
County Connection Travel Training teaches participants the skills needed to navigate public transit and gain independence to travel on their own. With training, you’ll learn:
- How to use a Clipper Card to pay your fare when you board public transit.
- How to ride a bus, read a map, and signal when you want to stop at a bus stop.
- How to plan your trip and even transfer to other transit resources like BART or Amtrak.
- How to use app-based ride-hailing services like Uber or Lyft.
For those who know someone or are interested in this Free Travel Training Program for themself, participants must reside in Clayton, Concord, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Orinda, Moraga, Lafayette, Danville, San Ramon or Unincorporated Central Contra Costa County. If participants live outside of the service area, many other regional transit agencies also offer similar programs, including WestCAT, FAST, and MTC.
The Free Travel Training Program is a program of Central Contra Costa Transit Authority with funding provided by Measure J and Measure X.
